Welcome to For The Win’s weekly Snapchat roundup where we watch a bunch of Snaps from around the sports world and collect the best/funniest/most entertaining ones here for you to enjoy.
The most amazing Snapchats this week came from Olympians in Rio, and some of the best of those best Snaps were of athletes watching each other succeed. For instance, when USA basketball wildly cheered when Michael Phelps won his 20th gold medal, Draymond Green was also Snapchatting — that was beautiful.
Other top Snaps include Lewis Hamilton casually playing with a tiger, and an adorable photo Karl-Anthony Towns shared of his Timberwolves teammate Zach LaVine.
1. Simone Biles Loves her Gold Medal
Simone Biles has won gold in the team all-around and the individual all-around, and she’s really happy about it, as she should be. When a fire alarm went off in the building she was in, she grabbed her gold medal and laughed hysterically with the rest of the team. It was wonderful.
2. Usain Bolt and the Rapping Reporter
Usain Bolt had a super weird press conference that included a rapping reporter and dancing. As the reporter was rapping, Bolt made him stop and redo the rap so that he could get it on video. Do it for the Snap, always.
3. USA Basketball Shows Love for Swim Team
Team USA basketball and other US athletes went to watch Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky win gold. NBC caught the basketball team on camera, and they were really excited. It’s nice to see athletes genuinely happy for other athletes.
LOOK AT DRAYMOND.
4. USA Basketball Continues to be the Best Snapchat Team of All Time
The basketball shenanigans continued this week. Here’s just a peek into their Snapchat mania.
Poor DeMarcus Cousins got bullied on the team bus.
The team visited the Christ the Redeemer statue.
Kyrie Irving and Draymond Green are each other’s sons.
5. Jake Dalton Sometimes Wears a Shirt
A story was published this week in which the US men’s gymnastics team was quoted as saying that they’d appreciate it if you please looked at their abs. Jake Dalton flaunted his physique many times. I’m not sure if he saw the story, but let’s pretend they’re related.
6. Hassan Whiteside is a Real Swimmer
Hassan Whiteside was given an official US swim cap with his last name on the side, so as he was watching Olympians swim on TV, he put it on and cheered.
7. Baby Zach LaVine
Karl-Anthony Towns has been posting Snapchats and IG Stories about Zach LaVine all week. Towns keeps saying that he’s been beating LaVine one-on-one over and over and over. Towns also posted this absolutely adorable throwback photo of LaVine. Awwwww.
8. Lewis Hamilton Played with Tigers
9. Ryan Lochte Selfies
Ryan Lochte has spent many nights in Rio Snapping selfies on Snapchat, while using the fun filters. His Dos Equis man face swap is insane.
10. Draymond Green Opening Ceremony Jokes
Draymond Green figured out a way to make hilarious Snapchats before the team marched at the Opening Ceremony. He took photos of teammates who weren’t expecting their photo to be taken. Green is the Snapchat MVP.
