Raptors teammates and best buddies Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are enjoying their journey at the Rio Olympics together. It showed on DeRozan’s birthday on Sunday. USA basketball (usabsnap) caught this golden moment on Snapchat.
Lowry sang DeRozan a little birthday song and gave him a hug, while DeRozan tried to push him away. They’re the best of friends.

Lowry also wrote DeRozan a heartfelt birthday message on Instagram. Part of it reads:
“…we’ve grown as men, fathers , sons, and everything else in the last 4 years and most importantly we’ve done it TOGETHER!! I could go on and on but I ain’t because you soft and might cry when you read it so imma stop now 😂😂. I love you bro that’s real talk, no matter what happens ever in life we still gone be brothers!!”
In a USA TODAY Sports story by Jeff Zillgitt that published Saturday, Lowry expressed the same sentiment:
“It’s awesome. It’s like my brother being with me at all times,” Lowry said of sharing the Olympic experience with DeRozan. “It’s having an opportunity to say we’ve done another thing together.”
